Long Island Sound is a tidal estuary of the Atlantic Ocean, lying between the eastern shore of Bronx County, New York City, the southern shores of Westchester County and Connecticut, and the northern shore of Long Island. The sound stretches 110 miles (177km) from the East River in New York City eastward along the north shore of Long Island to Block Island Sound. A mix of freshwater from tributaries and saltwater from the ocean, Long Island Sound measures 21 miles (34km) at its widest point and varies in depth from 65 to 250 feet.

The big Stripers will arrive in May and the fishing will be hot right into the month of August. We will take you straight to tried-and-true spots where trophy fish are found, our goal is to have every angler to have the adventure of their lifetime.

Water temperature, weather conditions and the time of day will play a major role in the depths we will target. Most anglers concentrate strictly on fishing with Bunker, We have also found that trolling these waters can be very effective for Trophy Stripers!

The great thing about fishing out of Port Chester, we can come right out of the Byrum River and will deploy the rods and be fishing within minutes, on a calm day you will witness the huge bunker schools getting ambushed.

The sight of Bunker Schools getting driven up to the surface by Blues and Stripers will always bring a smile to your face, the possibilities are endless on any given.The fish will navigate certain routes year after year, the larger females can be found crashing bunker schools in 20 foot of water or cruising alone in 60 feet.

Over the last decade it has been well documented that the Long Island Sound has produced numerous fish over 50 pounds, not to mention the current world-record 81.88 pound striped bass that was boated on August 4, 2011
